Teens

Adolescents is a time of change and self-growth. Our sessions provide a comfortable space for teens to explore their emotional world and better understand their mental health. Although teens attend counselling for a variety of reasons, all of our sessions have these underlying goals:

  1. Increase self-understanding and knowledge about mental health concerns.

  2. Enhance communication and healthy boundary setting to protect mental health and well-being.

  3. Develop a toolkit of coping strategies to help calm the mind and body.

PARENTs

Supporting a teenager can be challenging. Teens are at a stage in life where they start turning to their peer group more frequently, striving for independence while still needing a connection to caregivers. Our clinicians offer a non-judgemental space to explore parenting challenges and provide parents with strategies to support teens. Although parents seek support for a variety of reasons, all of our sessions have these underlying goals:

  1. Increase knowledge of adolescent development, mental health and attachment.

  2. Identify ways to tailor communication and support based on a teen's unique needs.

  3. Enhance emotional awareness and coping skills to model healthy strategies for managing powerful emotions


Skill building Programs

We have developed skill-building programs to help teens learn about mental health and develop healthy coping strategies. Our programs provide individual 1-to-1 support with a counsellor and are tailored to meet each teen's unique needs and experiences. All sessions are delivered virtually over secure video chat, and appointment times are flexible to cater to busy schedules.
